Q:

A: We meet at our beautiful new
church building at 1290 FM 407 which is three miles

Q:
What can I expect to see in a worship service?
A: You will see a dignified, yet informal,
worship service which will include singing, praying,
reading from the Bible and a sermon. On Sunday we partake of
the Lordıs Supper, and this will be offered to all who consider themselves
Christians.

Q:
What do I need to wear?
A: You will probably see some of the men
wearing suits and some of the ladies wearing
dresses. You will see everything from suits to jeans. All we ask it
that the clothing be modest. Styles come and go but modesty
never changes.

Q:
Are all Churches of Christ alike?
A: Please
see the page on "What
We Believe" because this will contain some thoughts on what we as
the Alliance congregation believes. All congregations of the Churches of
Christ do not believe the same thing. This is also true for most of the
denominations across America. However, we abhor haughtiness and
pharisaism. Some congregations try to make those who have been divorced
into second-class members. We uphold the Word of God while calling all men
and women to accept Him and obey Him regardless of the sins and mistakes
of their past. Our plea is to try to worship in the way, with the same
spirit, as those who worshipped when the church first began in Jerusalem
fifty days after Jesus arose from the dead. If one is rude, arrogant, and
self-righteous, they would not be happy at the Alliance congregation.
There are other congregations where they would be much happier.

Q:
Will I be expected to contribute?
A: No contribution is taken in our Bible
classes and no contribution is expected from our
visitors. We believe that every Christian has a duty to give back to the
Lord as we have been financially blessed. This is just another
area where the responsibility is on the member to determine if and how
much one should contribute.

Q:
Who will go to Heaven?
A: All
who have yet to reach that age where sin has been committed are, of
course, spotless and are in a safe condition. Likewise, all who have
received the blood of Jesus and are faithfully trying to obey His will in
their life. No one can save himself without Jesus. Everyone who is a
faithful spiritual child of God can look forward to eternal life.

Q:
Why don't you use instruments in the worship service?
A: The
New Testament tells us to sing and make melody in our hearts (Ephesians
5:19). It is our desire to model our worship service according to
the way the early church worshiped. Our singing is done a cappella
(vocally without the accompaniment of musical instruments). You do
not have to be a gifted singer or know how to harmonize to join in the
singing. You only need a desire to praise God and sing from your heart.
